1) Purana Qila New Delhi

Purana Qila is one of the oldest forts in Delhi, India. It was built by the second Mughal Emperor Humayun and Surid Sultan Sher Shah. It is also known as old fort. It is located near Pragati Maidan exhibition ground and is separated from the Dhyanchand Stadium by the Mathura road, Delhi. 

Purana Qila is not just a site of historical interest, but has become a popular picnic spot and lovers point for the present Delhi. It is often visited during the weekends or vacations. It is even more popular because of its location close to the National Zoological Park. Although it is pretty old, the site is clearly not deserted because it is located in the heart of Delhi city.

Here are the important details about the Purana Qila:

  1. Address: Mathura Road, near Delhi Zoo, New Delhi, Delhi 110001 
  2. Opening Hours: Monday to Sunday 7am-5pm
  3. Duration: 1-2 hours
  4. Cost of Entry Ticket: INR 30 ($0.49 CAD) per person including tax and fees for Indians and INR 300 ($4.9 CAD) for foreigners. Tickets can only be purchased at the counter  by the entrance
  5. Near Metro Train Station: Pragati Maidan
  6. Cancellation Penalty: Tickets purchased once are non-refundable and cannot be canceled 

There are lots of things to see inside Purana Qila:

  • Qila-i-Kuna: a mosque built by Sher Shah and portrays an Indo-Islamic architectural style
  • Sher Mandal: an octagonal double storied tower which served as Humayun's library and observatory
  • Three magnificent arched Gate: These gates are double storied structures beautified with two gigantic semi circular towers and is built with sandstone
  • The Archaeological Museum: containing artefacts from 300 B.C
  • Hammam: a bathing structure in the complex having arrangements for hot and cold water 
  • Baoli (StepWell): 89 steps leading to a distance of 22m with 8 landings 

2) Benz Celebrity Wax Museum, Calangute, Goa

Benz Celebrity Wax Museum is a museum where the travelers can watch the wax statues of various celebrities worldwide. It is located in Calangute town of Goa, India. Some of the celebritie's statues included in the museum are Mahatma Gandhi, Narendra Modi (India's Prime Minister), Albert Einstein (Scientist), Barack Obama (Former US President), Madonna (American Singer), Daniel Redcliffe (Harry Potter), Chris Evans (American Actor), Amitabh Bachchan (Indian Actor), Sachin Tendulkar (Indian Cricketer), Leonardo Dicaprio (American Actor), Daniel Craig (British Actor), Lionel Messi (Footballer), Bruce Willis (American Actor), Hugh Jackman (Australian Actor), Rowan Atkinson (Mr. Bean), Tom Cruise (American Actor), Angelina Jolie (American Actress), Scarlett Johansson (American Actress), Brad Pitt (American Actor) etc.

  • Opening Hours: Monday to Sunday 9am-11pm
  • Duration: 1-2 hour
  • Cost of Entry Ticket: INR 250 ( $4.09 CAD) per person including tax and fees. The tickets can be either purchased at the counter by entrance or can be booked online at https://benzwaxmuseum.com. Payments can be made by cash, debit card, credit card, visa or any Master card. 
  • Cancellation Penalty: Tickets once purchased cannot be canceled and hence are non-refundable
